Torque - I called the dealership as well for that car but was an hour too late. It was a great price. I luckily was able to pick up another 08 Manual from AR a couple of weeks later. Definitely enjoying the manual V10

Well done, congrats. I am having the rod bearings changed right now on mine, can't wait to have it back... The road from St Louis was icy/cold and was not a good time to open her up, but I can tell I will love it more than my previous M3.

Once the bearings are professionally replaced, how long should they last with proper maintenance/oil changes, etc????

Also, why replace the Vanos pump? Can you just clean it? Would you recommend a compression test before and/or after?

Yes, all of the ticking was from the cracked piston race on the VANOS pump.
