Yes! I bought from them a D-CAN cable just now, cable arrived with everything included. I also had purchased before an older cable which worked fine , but that was a K-line cable for an older VW car.

Cheers

wouldn't use bcables, I had the displeasure of remote coding a car who had their package and their launcher menu is very poorly written, it disappears when a program is opened, doesn't let you switch programs without completely exiting one first... a bit of a mess. Was close on telling him to install a copy of the software I had instead!

The reason why no one talks about the software is that no one outside of bmw is supposed to have it, so bmw send lawyers after anyone selling it...

Well I just bought it. I have had a hell of a time finding the software and this wrapped it all up in one simple package.

I will see how it goes once it arrives.

LCI or not LCI. Is this the discriminating factor in the programming code for e60 models? I have had a tough time finding literature pinpointing the change... some mention has been made in various forums that from March 2007 on the KCAN coding is different - thereby necessitating the physical slide-switch present on some ODB cables (as you linked above)

Any authoritative commentary on the software differences in the e60 would be really beneficial here. I have purchased a preowned M5, modded with various goodies and little way to know if the LCI attributes are stock or not.

Put the last 7 of your VIN in realoem.com and it will give your production date. If it is 24 March 2007 or after its a Life Cycle Impulse vehicle. DCAN

MHH Auto

To get the latest BMW software and get help on issue, I suggest you become a member of:

http://mhhauto.com/index.php

It take 5 bucks or so to become a member, to keep the riffraff out. But you can download the software here and discuss the setup and issues. It has worked for me quite well.

Use this cable (@jcolley already listed it, but I will repeat it here for completeness):

http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16

Known good combination.

INPA Installation Reference

And the linked document is a good reference for setting up INPA and DIS and getting through the silly details and hurdles getting it all to work. I suggest you get an cheap dedicated laptop to do it as it requires you to shut a bunch of security features off in Windows. (This is not the modern thing to do with the security issue using the Internet.) Plus you can tuck it away and it is ready for you when you need it for Ms. M5 when she has PMS again. Be sure to back it up. Once you have it, you are going to miss it when it does not work.

The attached file provides more detail on INPA capabilities than you every dream off. You can ignore this, if you are happy with the stuff provided up to this point yet. But if you are a geek like I am, then you will keep reading. Have fun. Enjoy the ride.
