I get the red cog if I shift aggressively at high speeds on my 06 M5 (Jun 06 build). I have twice been told by a local indy shop I need the whole SMG unit replaced $7,500+. So I really appreciate the info here!
I hear the SMG pump run frequently before the ignition is turned on (after you open the door), and often when I shut the car off. Would that be a good sign of the electric motor not keeping pressure. Or maybe a sign of another one of the parts listed associated with the unit?
