Please JColley HELP!🙏🏻
I own an M5 E60 2006 70k mls everything was ok thill it got flodded really bad (over the wheels)
I’ve cleaned everything in it took me 1 mounth... now everything works but the car won’t start becouse it’s stuck in gear 1st. i’ve changed the Hyd electric motor (new oem), with help from your diy 😄 but that did not fix the problem becouse the hyd motor dosn’t start (i’ve checked the old motor with battery and it works) the relay are working tested that too i will swap them with new ones, but i doubt that is the problem... changed the SMG fuses from Ebox still no cure. All plugs are clean, cleaned them with brush and WD 40 contact cleaner...
SMG trowing 520A, 4F02, 4F84, 4F64.
Sorry for bad English, not my native.
Thank you for all the Threads and DIY’s!
Have a nice day!

got expensive

Hi All

Reading this thread and reading Bill's write-up on replacing the motor, it seems that the price of the motor kit more than doubled in the past five years. It used to be around $260 now it's more than $600.

Maybe I am just not looking at the right part or distributor. Any advice?
Thanks,
Greg

Everything in the S85 world is starting to creep abck up. 3/4 years ago, x4 VANOS Solenoids could be had from Dealers for under $1k, now they're over $1k a piece and you need 4 LOL.

The SMG pump motor part number is 23017841032 I believe.

I bought one brand new last year just because my dealer was having a sale and I got it at a slightly reduced rate. Get it now before they creep up again!

Motors can be made to work for an extra ~100k miles. All you need to do is open, clean and modify brushes to prevent them getting stuck in their holder. This is what kills motors, Jim has mentioned this as well.
