Yeah...I have been in contact with Troy and he didn't seem worried. I got the Blackstone report back from this oil change and the Lead was down to 10 and Copper at 3 after 5700 miles. The sample was taken with hot oil and in midstream from the main drain. Consumption was about 4 qts from the last oil change so that seems normal as well...~.7 qt / 1000. I was using Edge 0w-40 to start with and topped it off with M1 15-50. Sodium was elevated but since Potassium is normal I'm not worried about it being contaminated with coolant.

My Troy engine also had small particles in the oil filter housing when I changed the oil. Nothing to worry about as you say.
I do changes every 5000km's and it never uses a drop of oil, what goes in comes out.

How many miles have you done so far on your engine?

About 20-25,000kms. with about 20 track days. Always ran 10w-60, never winter driven.

To be honest, I was kind of skeptical when Troy said the same thing, but it's good to hear of another similar situation. At least that's one thing I don't have to worry about for awhile.

Mine runs sweet and I also have hit the 8600rpm limiter a few times, never missed a beat. Idle is strong and steady, hot or cold. Reason I mentioned the idle is the vanos solenoids are working correctly, the little particles and not getting past the filter to the solenoids.
