What do you mean by "240 High output LEDs". That is not a designation I can find. I am assuming that 240 is the lumens. Is the "DD 328" the original bulb in the 08-10?

Thanks.

Richard

Now as far as quality i will let you know in a few months, i would think the mtec v3 would last longer, thats why im keeping mine and if needs be i will sell them at the end of the coming summer
Would you mind linking me a set of MTEC V3 bulbs on ebay bimma328? I'm not too keen on having to open up the headlight case and change the angel eye rings for some more powerful ones that's a little too extensive and not worth the effort in my opinion but thanks for the suggestion. I'm currently eyeing the 25 watt cree bulbs on ebay, but if these MTEC V3 bulbs are just as good then I will purchase those instead.

You only have to open your headlights if you want to use the Orions or change your CCFL rings. The MTECs and the 25W/30W Cree bulbs are all plug and play. It's just a matter of preference....and price. The MTEC V3s are going for $179 on eBay compared to $75 for the 25W Cree (wonder what the 30W Cree bulbs cost?).

as for the bulbs they just came out and theyre hard to find, i did locate the manufacturer tho, the seller of these on ebay has the contact

BMW CREE 25WATTS Angel Eye LED White for E39 E53 E60 E61 E63 E64 E65 E66 E87 E53 | eBay

they are bigger then mtec v1,2 or 3 and the passenger one is easy to install but the driver one, you will need to unscrew the 4 bolts holding the headlight and slide the headlight about 3-4 inches to get clearance for your hands
Are these ones above the exact same ones you put in your M5 bimma328? In part of your other comment you mention about the 25 watt and 30 watt so I'm kind of confused as to which one you got and which one you highly recommend to buy 25 watt or 30 watt.

When you say they are hard to find where did you purchase yours? from the above seller? I'm going to process some tonight if you can help me out with my above questions.

Cheers- You have been a massive help to me

I believe he got the 30W but that listing for the 25W is the only one he found and that seller can get us the 30W or refer us to someone who has them.

I'm looking for a new set as well. I had some 5W ones and one of them burned out so I got a set of 24W bulbs but their connections are very loose. My shop tried bending the prongs and taping them but they're still turning on and off occasionally. Trying to decide if I should go back to the 5Ws, get the MTEC V3 or these 30W ones that bimma is suggesting. Just worried if it's one of those "you get what you paid for" scenario if I go with the cheaper 30W.

Any other vendors carry the MTECs besides for what's on eBay?

a few years ago i tried reselling mtec bulbs and the profit margins were pretty small, so the mtec v3 on ebay are prety much the easiest way of buying these, as for the 30watt bulbs i can give you the email of whom i ordered from, let me know, if i can tomorrow i will take day light shots of the rings
