Proven power loss or gain by muffler delete?

No to both as long as you keep all the stock cats.

I did a half delete, so I removed the two outer cans but left the inner ones. Used the stock tips. It's much much louder on a cold start, but once warned up cruising its about the same as stock inside. At full throttle it's the perfect volume.

Hey bud,

Really love your car, I have an 06 interlagos blue e60 as well.

I recently did a muffler delete and had a pair of tips powdercoated gloss black at a referred shop. They shortly after faded to flat and the finish got orange peely.

Have yours held up fine?

If by any chance you could send me pictures of how they currently look that would be appreciated.

I've got a set of aftermarket tips on mine--I think they are Vibrant brand--and one of them has a bit of oxidation on it. Don't have the M5 with me at work today so I'll take pics later, after confirming the brand.

--'08 M5 - 38K miles, 6-speed, Interlagos Blue, muffler delete, RPI scoops, charcoal delete
