No Verbal agreement will hold up.. saleman are salesman -- i find I know more about the cars I'm shopping for than the dealer does. Also, keep in mind the warraty they're selling is NOT the company's warranty the work for, but rather a 3rd party.

What ever is in writing will be covered nothing else.

Hope this helps... crazy but you need to read and research everything, do NOT take a persons word on something like that --- or if it is covered I would ask them to point out the verbage in the warranty... bc companies always try to find a way NOT to pay.

seeing all these prices.... I am wondering did i get ripped off? I paid 7350 for 4 years from 41k to 91k. this seems higher than most all the prices quoted. i bought last spring when i was worried that i could not get the beast covered at all. bought easy care from bmw dealership.... would i be wise to ask for money back?

TinyMPG, email me at [email protected], I can help you. Yes, you paid too much compared to other good coverage you can get for the miles on your car.

As far as what a salesperson says, it is not legally binding to the warranty company, and the contract you are signing contains all the terms and conditions. Nothing anyone says overrides that contract, and a warranty company will never ever put an addendum or rider to a contract.

However, if the salesperson makes a false claim in order to sell the warranty, you could sue the dealership for fraud/misrepresentation. You would likely only win if the salesperson told the lie knowingly, not unwittingly, but your claim would be with the selling agent, not the warranty company.

Re: All things warranty (please post all warranty-related questions here)

So what's the current run down? I am in the market for a pre-owned. Wad quoted 4600 for one called Repair Advantage.

If any one has any Hendrick dealer near them, I was quoated $2789 for a 84 month (3 years Post factory warranty) and up to 80K miles with a $50 deductive for my 2010 M5 with 31K miles. It is an incredible deal, but 3 years post factory warranty is the most they go out. I'd like 5 or maybe 6 years coverage since I plan to be buried in this car. I'm 44 now.
From what I've seen they are pretty good with their coverage, albeit if feels like a conflict of interest to have your mechanic be the seller of your policy. From what I can tell it is exclusionary.

Other quotes by mileage

84 Months, up to 50K miles, $2,265
84 Months, up to 60K miles, $2,313
84 Months, up to 70K miles, $2,367
84 Months, up to 80K miles, $2,789

How is that any different than a BMW dealer pushing their extentend OEM warranties or preferred 3rd party alternative?

If a dealer sells Fidelity or BMW. The dealer makes money from the sell of the warranty (their cut), but the warranty Company, BMW or Fidelity as an example actually cuts the check for repairs. With the Hendrick warranty, Hendrick pays and does the repair if I use their dealership for repairs. If you went to a non Hendrick dealer, I guess it would be just like a Fidelity, Zurich warranty.
I'm still weighing the Zurich or CostCo warranties since they will go out 5 or 6 years, but cost closer to $5K as long as I get it before I hit 35K miles.
