BMW Performance Steering Wheel on E60?

Hey everyone, I was wondering if it's possible to install the E90/E92/E93 BMW performance steering wheel (version 1 or 2) on the E60?

These are the wheels with the info screen & shift lights on them. I know it would require a new airbag and maybe some fabrication more than likely. But does anyone know if it's possible or ever even attempted on an E60 especially an M5? I really want to do it and I see them used online all the time...

I know they fit on the new 1 Series as well for a fact...

Because M5 owners who have HUD will argue this wheel is un-necessary since they have shift lights on their HUD. But for us owners who do not have HUD, we do not have the luxury of rev ( shift ) lights!

I've been wondering this for a while now. I was hoping it would work with any SMG car. It would be sick!

Is it a coding issue or mechanical issue that it won't fit on our E60 M5's!

" Anything is possible with enough money as they say in the customization industry & the imagination is the only limit " I do have HUD but it would be another cool MOD to have.

"It's like the F10 is the 911 Turbo to the E60's GT3."

I don't think anyone has purchased one to figure out why it wont work.

I'm sure sizing / connection points / airbag are all things to worry about before getting the shift lights / track time features to work.
