Tommy, I assume your lawyer has asked you not to give updates until the trial is over.... But, as soon as you are allowed please give is the blow by blow account.. Hang in there. Good luck!

Uh, I would be kind of ticked off if war vets got treated better than me.

I wouldn't, but then this would be a bit of a derail, wouldn't it?

Trial Day 2

I was at the trial today (and yesterday) as an observer. While I am not restricted to posting details, I will be limiting what I say until after the trial because I do not want to do anything that could hurt the case.

The prosecution called three witnesses today.
1) The owner of an exotic car rental company testified about the cost to rent an M5 (while Tommy's car is not driveable) compared to renting a lesser car.
2) An appraiser testified about the value of the car before the accident and its value if it were to be repaired.
3) Trent Cole from Lone Star Bavarian testified about the cost to repair the car (and did an excellent job explaining things!).

Do you think that a dealership like this even considers the person, whether the person is a vet or not most likely would not even enter into the equation.

It likely will now for the jury; which is the point of bringing up in open court.

I agree with you. We don't have different classes of citizenship in the United States and all citizens deserve equal treatment under law. That being said, it's an unfortunate fact that emotion carries a lot of weight in a courtroom, and if you're not a sympathetic plaintiff or defendant you're going to have a harder time prevailing in your case. I don't fault the OP in the slightest in using all the tools at his disposal if it helps him win. Doesn't mean I don't wish justice was blind in our legal system.

Why would you get ticked off if they got treated better???
