Hope this works out for you--needless to say, Autobahn will not be touching my car....

Convinced another buyer to buy elsewhere today. That's between $250-$300k in sales I have sent to other dealers due to Autobahn's behavior described here.

It would have been cheaper to just own up and do the right thing.

Nice!

Has anyone looked recently at all the internet reviews that were done a while ago to see if all the poor ratings we gave have been scrubbed?

Daytona Bones, maybe you have seen/heard of this before, but here at Fields BMW in Daytona, FL, me and my friend have witnessed the techs using customer cars as "shuttles" to go and grab lunch at the local Chipotle; approx. 5 miles from the dealership. I always check my miles in/out and if it exceeds more than 2-3 from a basic service which is the length of the auto mall road, then a rise of concern comes about. I have had my friend drop his E46 M3 off for a subframe inspection for cracks, and with no damage found, a test drive was still performed and his gas mileage dropped from 21 when dropping it off to 12.... I too have fallen victim with 8 miles put on the car. I think I was used as an afternoon toy as well.

I always write the following on the work order, right next to where they ask you to sign it:

"NO permission to operate off dealership property- total miles at XXXX"

Pretty effective IMO

Thanks I'll try that. Luckily I now have a tech there who is a friend of mine and I just request he gets the car. So far so good with that.

Yeah, I have had a very mixed bag of results with the service at Fields. I hate hearing stories like like. That type of behavior is completely unacceptable. These abuses are generally a result of poor management of the employees. Stories such as these can be avoided if the management lays downs strict guidelines on the use of customers cars and follows through with repercussions for infractions. The corporation can not have a culture of acceptance that allows these episodes to happen.

Can you P.M. me the name of your service advisor and friend who is the tech?
