I think the dealership had called Tommy and told him his car was ready to be picked up and it was the next day that he got the call from the dealer saying his car had suffered a little curb rash on a test drive. If the car was ready for pick up the day before, there was no reason for the car to be test driven if it was ready for pick up the day before. I think tommy said the car was in the shop for an oil change so there is really no need for a test drive, just start the car and look under the car for signs of leak.

Apparently the Corvette crash was resolved. Looks like it took two days.

I agree here completely. I had a feeling that the dealership wouldn't do anything to help Tommy b/c of what Savage BMW did in the past to another M3 owner when they wrecked his car. It went down this same road. They probably consulted Savage BMW on how to handle this situation b/c this is the exact same result. I wanted to suggest that Tommy dime out the dealer asap to really put the heat on them, but ultimately, that wasn't my call. I think the dealer played their hand well by stalling long enough to diffuse the attention to their dealer and it apparently worked somewhat as they actually didn't get their name plastered all over the internets until now, but the 15 mins of fame had already passed. Sorry it didn't work out for you Tommy. This situation sucks big balls.

I bought an M5 from another dealership where it had about 15 different faults ranging from the wrong pressures in the wheels to them painting the titanium trim matt silver with overspray on the leather.

My friend took a 2005 M3 CS (12 year anti-perferation warranty) into BMW a couple of months ago because it has the common rust behind the plastic covers on the door catches. They told him it wasn't covered becaue the corrosion had come through from the inside?

BMW are a total joke and their response to this incident is exactly what I would expect.
I think you will probably find that once the car reaches a certain age, what is and what is not claimable under the paint warranty chages.

Yup, it seems like it the customer and dealer have negotiated a "complete satisfying solution" for the customer.

That is more like it. one down, one to go.

The title thread was only recently changed when the OP could not reach a settlement with them. Originally that title did not contain the name.

haha, that was only revealed a week or two ago.

The title used to be dealer ragged my car and wrecked/totalled it on a test drive. Once the OP decided to reveal the name of the dealer, it was changed to Autobahn BMW ragged my car and wrecked..............
