Since everyone hates to see these cars go away from wrecks or bad luck, I thought I'd share the result of keeping one alive.
Here's a link to the original story:

Last spring I bought the car and finally got around to getting new plates and tabs after having the work done by https://eurotechbodywerkes.com/

I've known the owner for a few (YMMV) and he's helped me out on a couple other P cars so I told him to see how it comes out after pulling the rear before I decide if I want to go further. Since previous owner had replaced almost everything mechanical proactively in recent miles, kept it near concours condition, did records of everything ever done in detail I've never seen before, I figured it would be a great long term DD once the exterior was fixed. Luckily the car pulled almost completely straight on the frame rack and the rest was handled by an excellent PDR guy. I was absolutely amazed by what an expert with some chains welded to the bumper supports could do with years of experience. Essentially reversing the impact and bringing the quarters near perfectly straight.

I've attached some pictures so other can get an idea of what's possible with the right body guy and because now I need to decide to keep one or both M5s. I had bought the Oxford green one 4/2017 and spent a bunch entirely refreshing the suspension, all 4 hubs, bearings, some hoses, seals, reshot rear bumper and hood, etc., then came across the silver one here.

To make things more hectic car wise, last fall while the silver one was getting fixed, I ended up buying a 991s and have been using that as a DD.
So now I'm wanting to unload at least one of the M5's and will be posting it up here shortly. Or, if anyone wants a pair, let's talk.

The green one is like this:

Oxford Green & Caramel
$25k+ in records over the past 80k miles, 152k on it, needs nothing.
Nearly perfect body & great mechanically.
Done in last 10k miles:
All new suspension (20 piece Lemforder kit), new Koni adjustable Yellows over Dinan springs, Dinan rear sway, Dinan tower brace, Dinan tune, plugs, coils, thermostat, oil/water temp senders, PCV system, plenum gasket, new hubs and wheel bearings front and rear, Michelin PSS, belts, all filters/fluids, Dinan exhaust, new shifter carrier and small parts with e60 Shift rod.
e-mail only with phone number or message will not be returned.

I'm sure I'll regret selling either/both and my daughter likes the green one and wants it for herself but needs a license first. I just don't have room for my cars and feel like a lot attendant some days while shuffling to drive them all some and keep batteries & gas fresh, etc. Good opportunity for someone local to pick up an M5 that needs nothing, I'll be posting an ad soon as I get time for a fresh clean & wax. A while back I put the green up on local CL for $15k and had one serious low ball offer, one that was close to where I'm at in it and a couple of people that I never followed up with after getting too busy. Now that summer is here and I have more time, hopefully someone else will end up with a nice M5.
