Now, I'm all about not skimping on quality and I'm aware that I own sophisticated and complicated German car but with little luck I can easily find similar curved coolant hose in proper diameter and easily save $50+.
I already got coolant expansion tank so when I replaced it I'd rather install fresh rubber hose vs 15+ year old one.
I'm also aware that this hose is not know to go bad but if it does it'll be inconvenient time and place.
It might be "only" $50 but when you own 3 older BMW's there is always some expense.
I'll post my result since I know there are few maniacs here like me.

If I'm correct, that one doesn't have the sensor on it, and therefore there's nothing stopping you buying an aftermarket hose (Samco or other generic silicone hose)
Exactly, I have 2 choices:
Buy one in proper diameter sold by foot and see if bending it won't affect the flow or as original plan, get lucky with one made for whatever brand car.

I might be missing something, but it doesn't look like Samco makes anything for the m5 (https://www.samcosport.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/02/USA-CARS-BMW.pdf). You'll be able to find something pretty close at the parts store for sure though. Let us know, particularly if they'll tell you what vehicle / interchange its off of.
Gates is a well known supplier of cooling hoses and (spline) belts. If you buy a non-OE hose, buy one with an inside diameter, fitting the connection at the thermostat housing. By careful heating (only) the hose with a heat gun you can increase its inside diameter on the other side, to fit the larger diameter connection of the radiator.
If you don't like to load the radiator connection itself for this purpose (which is justifiable since there is a chance of braking it when loading it too much, certainly at aged radiators !), simply use a piece of steel tube of similar diameter as the radiator connection in your bench-vise. A piece of broomstick, turned (in a lathe) or filed tapered, also works well for increasing the inside diameter of the hose. Don't bother about bends in the hose too much. The hose will be able to orient itself thanks to its rather small outside diameter. The slight flattening at imposed bends will not be critical since this hose only conducts a return flow from the water pump. Correct me if I'm wrong here ...
Patrick Motorsports offers something nice hoses as well. Not cheap, but very nice.
