How to use GT1 DIS v57????

This GT1 DIS v57 is so difficult for me to use! Who the hell wrote this software???? Totally not intuitive by any means. Also there does not seem to be any REAL, IN DEPTH, Walk-Me-Thru-Step-By-Step, Screen-By-Screen procedure to get to the DSC Hydraulic unit flush and bleed...

I have scoured the internet and Forums for the information (DIS v57 for dummies) with only vague scraps of information. Nothing complete from start to finish. I am SO Frustrated at this point. This is the same with INPA and Rheingold ISTA programs. Why is this stuff such a secret????

Can anybody write this up or show me where this information can be found???

Big Thanks to You!!!

Here’s a BMW Technical Training Manual:-
http://www.mitinka.com/files/GT1-05a-BMW-Diagnosis.pdf

TL/DR:-
Connect car and Identify Vehicle.
Carry out Quick/Short Test.
Select “Function Selection”
Select “Service Functions”
Select “Chassis”
Select “DSC”
Select “Bleeding/Venting”
Follow on screen instructions.

If that isn’t 100% correct, I apologise.
I haven’t used DIS for a long, long time and have written that with a failing memory.

Rosie,

I thank you for your reply. The steps outlined under TL/DR :- (not sure what that means) seems clear enough. However, something seems to be missing. I can connect to the car and identify vehicle. Then do the quick test that then presents the status of the control modules. At this point, I want to select the 'Function Selection' button (lower left next to the triangle button) but it is grayed out and does not do anything. I poked around trying various buttons that got me nowhere near the 'DSC' 'Bleeding/Venting'.

The only semi related to DSC that I found was 'Activation' of the Pre-charge Pump and Pump that do work. But this does not seem to purge the brake system.

Since there is not a Fault Error, I don't think generating a 'Test Plan' is of any use (I could be wrong).

I also have Rheingold ISTA program, are you familiar with that? I can get to the page to activate all sorts of DSC valves, pumps, etc... but I have no idea of the procedure order and I have tried all of the buttons.

Any additional help would be welcomed!!!!!

TL/DR is Too Long/Didn’t Read (A dig at all the Millennials out there with the attention span of a gnat)

I just fired up DIS and realised I missed one step - my apologies.

After the quick test press the green right arrow at the bottom right of the page.

Then you can select “Service Functions”

Then “Chassis” “DSC” “Bleeding”

Then select “Test Schedule” down the bottom to get to:-

Then select the green arrow at bottom right to get to:-

Follow the instructions on the left and you should then be good to go.

I can also guide you in Rheingold/ISTA-D - it will just take you into the old DIS pages anyway
