Any suggestions? BMW said they wouldn't even try and quoted $600 for a new mirror. I can't believe getting the ball back on is so hard. Since I have the V1 hard wired in there I can't just do the quarter turn and take the mirror out of the car. I saw a video of a guy using a block of wood and a jack to get the mirror back in the ball. Any help would be appreciated guys. Thanks!
I have used Safelite before (as recently as 5 months ago-they do very nice work) and I have never had them refuse to replace the rear view mirror. I would not pay for the job as I would consider that "incomplete". That is part of replacing the windshield.
I would contact customer service and contact your credit card company for a chargeback if necessary.
