To the OP, why donít you just contact the vendor and ask if their product is rebuildable..

That's where I went first and have only received a response from Turner.

What was their response if you don't mind me asking?

This is what i got from a rep on the Turner web chat today:
Me: In case of needing to rebuild in the future what is the part number or original application of the ball joint in the e38/e39 thrust arm monoball conversion you guys sell?
Sorry, Doug M. is busy right now. Please wait while we find someone else.
Doug M.:
Hi CHristopher.

Checking...
That is the only way they are sold. Individual parts are not offered.
Me: The descriptions states that it utilizes "OEM BMW sealed, greased ball joint" so I was just looking for that application that was originally used in.
Doug M.: Problem is, the manufacturer does not divulge the part #.
I will dig some more.
Me: Turner is the manufacturer?
Doug M.: No, ECS is.
Me: Ah
Doug M.: We do not use these.
Me: Is there something else better to use? Seems odd to have your name on them but not use or support them
These are the parts in question:https://www.turnermotorsport.com/f/p...-arm-bearings/
Doug M.: That is the only product I can say that about.
Yes, familiar.
Me: Alright well I ordered them last week and was planning on installing them but now am second guessing it. How has the feedback been on them?
Doug M.: I would recommend getting a OEM bushing.
an
No problem. I have been here 23 years, so if you have any product questions, please run them by me. Email is [email protected]
Thanks Christopher.
Me: Alright I'll do a little more research before installing them then. Thanks

Sorry if that's a bit hard to read, the formatting didn't transfer well outside of the chat window. If anyone has feedback on these monoball replacements for the thrust arm bushings I'm all ears. I am sick of destroying rubber bushings on my heavy S62 swapped E38.

I should have them in my hands this Friday and will post an update. I'm sure I will be able to post a part number for the BMW ball joint used in the housing at that time once I match it up. I'm just hopeful it is possible to press them out for replacement without destroying the aluminum. I'm fearful once it is pressed out a new piece wont fit tight enough in the aluminum but who knows.

thanks,
tmaxx445

Their reply was that while the bushing is technically rebuild-able, they would recommend replacing the entire bushing rather than repairing/rebuilding it.

Not a huge help other than I don't think they are actually fully rebuild-able.

I have the new Lemforder arms + G.A.S. monoballs. Here are my thoughts after 1 year of use:

1. I replaced all my steering linkages and other joints along installing KWv3 suspension. Despite proper bed-in procedure of brakes, i still had intermittent vibration on braking. Not all the time, but sometimes it would happen. This has been completely eliminated since upgrading to monoballs

2. The steering feel is just awesome. Is there additional NVH? Sure...but its barely there....maybe 5% more? I don't even notice it now. My car feel so planted and precise...I absolutely love it.

3. Sometimes at large steering angles / articulation i can get a little bit of creaking / popping sounds. This rarely happens, but every so often I will get it. Not a show stopper, but just being transparent.

The Verdict : Do the Monoballs and say goodbye to numb steering and annoying vibrations from braking. Seriously. If I were to buy another M5 this would be one of the very first mods I would do.

That's great feedback to hear; I plan on installing the Turner unit tomorrow and will report back this weekend. It seems the Turner and GAS kits both may utilize the same BMW ball joints in their respective custom housing so functionally they should be the same.
