Thank you, fellas!

Girlfriend surprised me for my birthday with a 3-day trip to Austria. She didn't tell me where we were going until we were in the car and I was thrilled to learn it was Austria.

Just a quick write up. With roadworks and a butt load of stupid caravans along the way, it was a 6 hour drive. Totally worth it though as you are greeted with stunning scenery upon entering Austria.

Fueling up with a beautiful backdrop.

Roads are so much smoother than in Germany.

Can't ask for a better rest stop.

Destination reached - Fernsteinsee lake in Tyrol.

Wonderful castle/hotel.

Breathtaking nature.

All you can eat Austrian grill.

Too bad we had to head back.

Whether it's high-speed Autobahn driving or twisty mountain passes in Austria, I love doing long road trips with the M5. It just feels like I'm home every time I'm behind the wheel.
I've been getting lots of thumbs up lately from other drivers which is always nice to see.
