Got to thinking about your question and remember now it was a 34/11 gear ratio, (3.09 vs 3.36 in the stock 600cc M.C.) in the motorcycle that made all the difference in the world. What I am trying to say is that gearing should make all the difference in the world. My 95 SC 540i pushes 414 ponies with a 3.15 LSD diff and feels just right. My 01 M5 pushes 400 ponies, has the 3.15 LSD diff and feels not quite as "brutal" in the power delivery area but then again its a noticeable "motoring down the road" experience all together. Perhaps you should consider a taller rear end ratio in that I'm "playing" with 400 ponies whereas you are probably at the 560 mark. So if you can find an inexpensive 3.15 LSD try it out, you may want to opt for something in the 2.90 range. Please keep us posted as to the "seat of the pants" experiment.

Before my recent tune I was putting down something north of 450 at the wheels. I have MUCH taller gearing. I could break the tires loose on a hard 1-2 shift. The backend would step out a little bit. I generally don't get on the car hard until 2nd and 3rd is the real money gear.

I have good Mich PSS. So it is very possible there is some issue.

When the ESS kits first came out, many of us had the intake tubes collapsing. Felt like a boost leak and car felt slow. You accelerated great and then about half way through, it just didn't accelerate hard anymore. Once that was discovered and fixed, car felt completely different.

With 3.62 gears, 1st should be close to useless. It should hit redline so fast that you have to be on top of it or you will hit the rev limiter. if not, I suspect there is some issue to be dealt with .

Regards,
Jerry

Agreed! To the OP...Do you have a boost gauge?
It would be helpful to see if you have developed a leak.

Secondly...
I just last week replaced my IAT sensor (the one in the discharge tube). It had apparently gone bad and was reading a constant 140 degrees regardless of actual temp. I noticed a SIGNIFICANT increase in performance after replacement (I assume the ECU was "seeing" 140 degrees even when cool?)

With 3.62:1 gears in the rearend AND a supercharger, you should be shredding first and second gear and thinking about starting in third gear. You definitely have an issue.
