Interesting. Your UK e-box layout is very different from the North American one I have. Looks like you have two separate processors with covers on each. The NA one looks likes below, with one processor.

RealOEM reflects this, with UK models showing a basic DME AND a programmed DME.

Doesn't make any difference to your situation as far as I can see, just curious about the two processors.

The module 1 connector on top of the DME with the heavy red and brown wires in it is the main power supply to the DME. If you disconnected that one, I don't think you will have any power to the DME.

Malcolm

That's not my car in the picture, it's just something I found on the Interweb to illustrate my point. Car is a 2001.

I've found I do actually have a picture from my disassembly but it's not perfect:

To update: it didn't work - INPA timed out trying to talk to the ECU.

I'm guessing the main power feed in this case comes from the engine bay, with just data lines going back into the car.

Two of the pins in the OBDII connector come from module 4 of the DME. Is that the one you have connected? I suspect you also need module 1, with the heavy red, brown and white wires connected.

The only thing I've got connected is the one bit of loom coming from the car, looks like all the rest is part of the engine loom. I'll attempt to connect that lot back up over the weekend and see how I get on.

I'm not sure how the parts of the module are numbered, but I've got the 4th from the right (in my picture) connected?

So looks like I do indeed have #4 connected, and that power comes in on #1 like you said @68FB .
