Any plans to open up the old unit to determine the failure point? Can the unit be rebuilt?

$200 for the part, $12 for brake fluids, frustration in getting dis to run/function.

No but I still have the 2000 Z3M Roady which just turned 30k miles. Will be selling before winter, have no time to really drive it like it should be...

If you search on google almost a decade ago there was a mid-engine prototype / concept BMW with most likely the S85.
I have the pic saved on my home computer but not the article. I think it was on autoblog.com

When the world economy went to the toilet back in 08-09, they pulled the plug.
I guess years later they dusted off the chassis, decided to go green and use CF ... that's what the i8 is.
