I ordered it from BMW of San Francisco, Shop original BMW and MINI Cooper car parts.
It was the cheapest with shipping, I paid $578.58.
The lower engine cover I ordered from AdvantageBMWParts.com, $226.79+free shipping.

Replaced the brake lines and had the engine detailed. The engine hasn't looked this good since it rolled off the assembly line!

I think I found the culprit.

Also noticed how terribly “weathered” the wheel well liner looked...

Spent three days at Thunderhill East sending it. ~370 miles of track time, rolled 212K miles on the way home...

And when it gets sent too hard, you shade tree it back together and continue to send it... (I was not responsible for this carnage...)

Dropped off the car to get the driveshaft replaced today. The center bearing started squealing like 2 pigs fighting for a piece of bacon, so I couldnt stand it anymore. Contacted Driveshaft Specialists out of Texas and had them ship one right over in a few days. The first one came with a bent tab (see pic) so they promptly sent another one out while we packed up the original one to send back. Really great service!

For anyone looking for a rebuilt DS, they have them readily available for $444 with a $150 core charge that you get back once you send your old one back in. A new OE one will cost $1600+

No today but last week, had my wheels refurbished by the Wheel Specialist in Manchester (UK). I’m very pleased to say the least.

Really jealous of the ubiquity of transmission shops you've got out there in the US. I foolishly disassembled by driveshaft to replace the CSB a while back but didn't mark the orientation of the pieces and now have a vibration. Can't find anywhere in the UK that will re-balance the shaft..
