Right tie rod would not come loose at the alignment shop. Awesome. Tearing it apart today to see what the issue is.

FML....... frozen. Could not break it free, removed the whole rack.

One good thing. Drove about 50 miles and didn't rub at all with the 3mm spacers!

Looks great Tim!
I'm very interested your progress on this, as my car's front shocks are getting just a touch floppy, so I figure that some coil overs would make great replacements.
I really like the price on the BC units.
Are you using corner scales to set up the suspension?

p.s. you know that Steve would still be scrubbing his wheel liners with a toothbrush right now if those were his.

Yeah, Steve is disgusted with me for those liners I am sure.....

No corner waits, just taking measurements from the center of the wheel to the fender.

Your uber-clean M5 are why we keep you around.

Tim, once you get the suspension set where you think its correct using the measurement method, I'd be really interested to see how it actually is on the scales. Maybe show up at a SCCA race at Mid-Ohio with a half-rack of beer and see if one of the racers will let you set the M5 on their corner scales?
I've heard from racing friends that there just is no substitute for the scales.
This would address one concern I have in installing the coil overs, is getting it set up correctly. I don't know where I would find a set of corner scales up here in the boonies, and they are too expensive to buy for a one-time use.

Car looks very nice! I love that 1st side view pic, the contrast of the black w/ the shadow chrome...simple and clean.

So I have a set of H&R coilovers I have yet to put on my car, I think they're the street/track version...but all I see on this board are these BC's. Got my H&R's for $1200 which I thought was pretty good(Turner Motorsports said they retail for $2200). Is there a reason hardly anyone chooses the H&R's? I would love to know what is so good about these BC's(price?, adjustment?, etc..).

BTW, what % is your tint? It looks so good on your car. Thanks!

Tim. Your car looks smoking hot especially with the square setup on the BCs. By the way, your ride height is very similar to mine if not the same. Don't touch a thing. Drive around with the height for a while. Trust me you'll like it and you wont go back. It's by no means slammed. 13.5" rear and 13.75 front is where mine is right now and I love it! It gives a near parallel stance from the side view as opposed to raked. I was considering 19" staggered wheels, but after looking at your car and with the good ride quality of of 18" wheels, I think I might just get those 18" VB3s I've been drooling over squared up. I had a hard time with my alignment as well till I was told my tie rods are shot. I ordered the left and right tie rods and the center drive link and they are in my trunk right now. I just need to find time to take them to the alignment shop and have them installed. Looking good!

Not sure on the tint, it was on the car when I bought it. I think it is 35%. I think, I may be wrong, but I think people don't use the H&R springs because you CAN NOT go with a square set up (rears on the front) without huge spacers, if at all.

Just a quick update........

No corner weights for me, just measuring.

Car is totally aligned and driving great. I have adjusted my dampening to 10 clicks from full soft on all 4 corners. Now remember, I have no mufflers and but about 200lbs of stereo equipment in the trunk. I am heading to Atlanta next weekend (from Ohio) for a BMW show so I will get some real miles put on it and see how she handles on the highway. So far I am very pleased.

Thank you to everyone for the compliments!

Tim,

Thanks for the update. I've done a few miles with mine now and they are holding up to the job well, cannot fault the performance for the price. I have mine a little harder than you, running around 20 clicks from soft all round.
