Understanding main bearing size

I was on real OEM and was wondering what 60,00MM is?? cause that is huge if it equates to 60cm. Can someone point me in the right direction, as I am daft. (use to inches not metric)

Also I read in another thread about the different colours on the bearings. the whole blue and red thing but it was not cleared up to me comprehention.
https://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/sho...engine+bearing

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction as I don't want to ruin my new Engine

Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest that they mean 60.00mm, ie exactly 60 millimetres - a bee's dick over 2.36 inches.

so the 60mm is refering to the distance between the two ends of the bearing and not the thickness??

The bearing shells come in different sizes and you will need to 'plastigauge' to determine which shell you require ..............
