What does this seat cable do?

Hey Everyone, I was fixing the crooked seatback problem on my Ď91 M5 when I saw a loose cable dangling under the passenger seat. The pin that is supposed to hold it is gone, nowhere to be found and probably the victim of a good vacuuming. All directions of the power seat appear to be working, including the front thigh bolster and headrest. So I canít figure out what this thing is supposed to do.

The pic of the loose cable is the passenger side and it is in the side closest to the door. There is no matching cable on the other side of the seat. The pic of the cable with the retaining pin is the driver seat and also closest to the driver door without a matching cable on the opposite side of the seat.

As a follow up, Iíve tried all sorts of search terms trying to find a replacement pin without luck. Anyone got a parts manual with a number or a link to where I can get a proper replacement pin?

Big thanks in advance!

Here are some wider shots of the driver's seat with that cable properly anchored with the pin:

These connect to the top seat belt anchor point - up through the B pillar.

The idea is the anchor point adjusts up and down when the seat moves fore and aft.
