Geoff from austin, texas.

Former 16mm film maker/focus puller then in LNG business, real estate for the last 18 years, married with two boys, 6 and 3.

Bought a silver euro spec 530iT about 5 years ago...improved to look like an M5 and was debating an Alusil swap and 6 speed when the silver elekta reappeared after 3 years of dying for it. Spent 8.5 months in the process and took possession in california last september...drove home in 3 days SF to Indio in day one, Cali border to El Paso day two, El Paso to Austin day three.

Made a recent south texas run for quail season last weekend. Love this M5T business, and would like to have another.

Am 46 in april, and I now restore old houses for spec and I've never been happier. Parts chase in the M5T, get material in the 57 chevy

my house which was my first restoration with the 57

greetings !

my name is Brad. I am married with 2 adult sons, and just celebrated my 52nd birthday. My oldest son is an IT specialist and his younger brother is a BMW tech at the local dealership (can you say - employee pricing for parts ? )

I am an aircraft jet engine field rep, providing customer technical support on USAF KC135 tankers. Having owned and driven everything under the sun to include american muscle cars, 4x4's, asian, british and other german makes - became devoted to BMW's seven years ago, when I purchased my 635CSi. I still have that car along with a 1992 735i and a 1991 M5.

Loving life and living the dream in the heartland of America, in a place called Kansas.

The picture includes me on the left, my wife Carole in the center and the man himself - Gustav - on the right. The occasion was Gustav's America Tour last summer.

Noob to thread and plan to stay!

Howdy folks, I'm Rob (50) from Safety Harbor, Florida, (presently sunny and 65F).

I retired from the US Coast Guard back in 2000, I spent 24 years as a C-130 Flight Engineer and Maintenance Technicial. I now have to work for a living as an instructor for C-130 Aircraft Pilots and Flight Engineers. Many of our customers hail from the Air Forces of The Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Norway, Spain, New Zealand but no Aussie's!

My wife Darlene of 27 years passed away last January after a short bout with cancer. I have an adult son and daughter, my daughter is following in dad's foot steps and joins the Coast Guard on Feb 12.

This is my second BMW, first being an 03 745i Sport. Great car but I wanted the M5 for the times when I feel like driving hard. Also satisfies my mechanical fix it jones, always preferred to maintain and repair my own vehicles. Look forward to keeping the M5 in prime mechanical and cosmetic condition.

Main Hobby is golf (10 handicap) play 3-4 times a month. Other than that it's trying to keep up the house and cars. Major hockey and Football fan (European, not American) which makes me an odd duck when it comes to sports. Thank you Fox Soccer Channel!

Happy Motoring and hello to all, Rob

I'm Alan,

I'm 35 and have lived in south east London all my life.
I work as an office equipment / I.T engineer in central London.

I have been mad about cars my whole life, fuelled by my father who
as a sales rep travelled the entire country at over and above the national
speed limit

I always wanted a BMW, and fell in love as a teenager with the marque.
I got my first E28 in 1992 aged 20.
It was an Arctic blue 528i Manual with M-tec & LSD.
The rest is history....I progressed through E34's to the M5.

I have a habit of being given cars throughout my life,
latest project being a citrine yellow Mondeo SI complete with ADAPTIVE DAMPING ! ! !
Which of course is BROKEN !

I am a keen biker, a Mini enthusiast & competitive behind the wheel of
anything with an engine.
I have a 1976 Mk3 Mini Clubman, and also pictured is my best friends'
1425 street racer...130bhp at the wheels, lsd, straight cut etc etc.
1/4m in 15.2sec

A few years ago Autocar magazine with Jonathan Palmer ran the "HOW FAST?"
events.
I attended in the M5, the idea was to benchmark all classes of car around
Bedford autodrome 3.6mile GT circuit.
Out of 100 cars I put the E34 10th over all on the day, being fastest placed
4-door saloon
The results appeared in Autocar magazine 12th September 2001.

I have trained in kickboxing for 6 years, run about 12 miles a week and will
be seen out in all weathers washing / polishing Farrells I mean my M5.

I got to the Nurburgring last year & hope to go again this year.
I travel to many rounds of the Moto GP championship including last year
Holland, Portugal, UK & France.

I suppose my dream come true would be to meet a sexy petrolhead girlfriend
who didn't cost as much as an M5 to run.

Thats me !

Hi everyone,

I am Phill, a 26 year old car nut. I have been married to the wonderful Tona for the last year and a half, and we have been together for nearly 9 years.
(This is despite the fact I spent our first anniversary, on the inside of the Esses at Le Mans, getting cold and damp)

We have two kittens, who, annoyingly, are way too cute to stay mad at.

I have a family member working for the local stealer, (I have used them a couple of times before, and can attest to that), so, the same as Brad, cheap (?) parts. Rear EDC shock at cost price, along with all the fittings. While I work at a commercial vehicle workshop, so, which means I use the local specialist to get the M5 sorted. (Anyone who has worked in this sort of place knows what I mean, your vehicle NEVER gets in)

My only real hobbies are driving, and messing about with computers. Oh, and motorsport of almost any kind. I LOVE YOU MOTORS TV!!!

I spend too long chatting with mates on the PC and gaming on the PC, but, I know how it is!!

My LE needs some work, but the service is soon, and that should help point me in the right direction!

Phill

There are already enough pictures of me and the cars and I already added a small written profile, but not some pictures so here they are.

Me on a hiking trip in the Tirolian Alps.

Another picture of a sport that I like to do.

Photography is not only a hobby, but also enables me to document all my interests.

My wife with Thomas, out youngest.

Both our sons, Wouter and Thomas in the Austrian Alps.

I am George (...), 37 as of yesterday. I'm a radiologist.
My motor background is mostly Porsches, having owned quite a few, some of which rather rare.
The M5 is my wife's daily driver, and likely the last BMW we'll ever own. It is a pinnacle of sorts, being the last hand-assembled BMW, the first super grocery-getter of them all. The best part is, MC (my wife, whom some of you know) is the real good driver of us two.
I ride bicycles. A lot.
Here I am with the most important subject of my life. Vincent

Great thread!
I'm Mike, 37, married with 3 kids. I'm an optometrist by day, a bmw club driving school instructor when i can get a free weekend, enjoy my free time with the family and tinkering around the house/garage/cars. Grew up as an american muscle car guy, had an encounter with a sinister black bmw sedan circa 1988 (just after high school graduation) while in my pontiac gto, was quite impressed.
Later, in college, i worked at an auto detail shop, we prepped the new bmws for the local dealer. Being the clean cut college student who spoke english, i was entrusted with the nicer cars. One day, summer of 90 or so, a very mean sounding e34 pulls up, with what looks like whitewalls, but turns out to be funky, brake dusted alloys, and i remembered that //M5 badge. Wanted one ever since, went thru all of the mods on an e39 first before finally getting my e34 to join it in the garage.
Attatched a pic of myself and the boys at last summer's monterey historics, and another of my younger son with the e34, on the day we brought it home.
