Im a little confused. Do you mean that engine number are different than the 7 last numbers of the VIN nr? My car have chassisnr WBAEE310701050005.And as far as i can see(under not perfect light),the numbers on the engine are 1050005.Could somebody have "printed" the vin nr on the engine when they eventually replaced an other engine? Or what?

Not sure about the ////M models, but it is very common for BMW's of the 80's era to have the same engine number as the last 7 digits of the VIN.
I've owned several non-M E28's, which all had/have matching numbers.
Here's the details of my current "project" as an example:
Year: 1988
Make: BMW
Model: 525 EE
Main Colour: White
VIN: WBADB620101866647
Plate: OB9276
Engine No: 1866647

So it would not surprise me at all if your early M635CSi has similarly matched engine/VIN numbers.

Previous:
1987 E28 M5 (DC98) Delphin-metallic/Midsilver Nappa
1986 E23 745i/M88 (6928) Arctic-metallic/Oyster Nappa

Well as I said, M cars are different...I checked yesterday on my papers...

here is mine 85 M6 Euro version:
VIN: 1052286 Engine N 41643662 ( I do have the original certificate ) and of course I checked it.
I own my M6 now for 15 years, and it is a "matching numbers" one !,
one of the 192 sold in France.

E46 ///M3 convertible 2005
