What is a 87-88 M6 worth?

I have had the itch for one of these for a long time and it may be time to scratch. There are several available in the country and pricing is all over the place. What would a E24 with about 50 to 60k on the clock in pristine condition be worth, it would be subject to a PPI etc to verify condition. The nicer ones seem to be asking low 20's to high 20's, any input is appreciated. Thanks.

hello Sir

my name is ruben block,I live in belgium.I new here so I didn't know all this board yet.
my passion is bmw,I started my live with the bmw e24.
I have completely restaured a bmw e24 m635csi.I know the car inside out.
in my opion to give a number on a e24 is,the state of the e24.
I like when a car is in showroom state.you must know that parts of the e24 are not cheap.
when you have a lot of metal work on a car(rust)it will drive the price fast up.
knowing you have to buy new chrome(chrome rear bumper only 550 euro)(only rear bumper)

when a e24 haves a good interior, nice leather sport seats,no rust on the outside, inside, have good chrome pieces and dry rubber strips.
fully good (all the suspension parts)drive and brakes good)its worth a lot of money.because this mean you only have to get fuel and start driving.
so when buying a car that drives brakes and run good,is worth to pay a little more.

the problems start when you have to take care of rust,a good outside paintjob cost fast 4000 euro, when need good rubber strips, when you need chrome plus 1400 euro(some strips like the roof ones can not be used again)70 euro per piece 2 set a side)
outside trim is very expensive.rubber strips of the door too.
replace panels is a pain in the ....(the most e24 are rusted)(check verry good the underside and wheel arches)(when found one contact me please)
but engine and gearbox part cost the most, then chrome, then lights, then rubber strips

my price vision is(for show room state cars)

628csi from 5000 to 10000 and more(problem is nobody wants a 628,verybody wants a 635csi of a m6(635)csi
635csi from 5000 to 15000 and more
M6(35) csi from 12.5 to 20000 and more

it depents in what state you want to find a e24.

do you want to rebuild him youre self(buy low and invest)
do you want to pay and drive without problems(buy a good one, very good state, nice chrome and rubber parts)and find the best you can find with youre budget.

and very important, find a man, that knows the e24.contact me iff you dont find any one.
send me pics and I will help you out,I know that there are a lot of parts that are not amy more to order from bmw.
I have a lot of breakers in my back yard, that is for me the way to bring the cost down.

(when you nee more info my email is [email protected])

best regards

ruben block

EURO Classic Motors | BMW 1987/6 MODEL E24 M6, DIAMOND BLACK 086/9, S38-B35

I was admiring this beauty the other day, pretty much the nicest e24 I've seen available. It may cost a bit more than your run of the mill e24 (and, with respect to this car, I'm considering pretty much 99% of e24s still on the road "run of the mill") but with only 62k original miles and extensive reconditioning work, I have no doubt this car would look better in your garage now than it did new (it would in mine ) and is certainly worth every penny (I'd hardly imagine something like a new 328i is even a hundredth as appealing). The owner/seller is also a board member here (First e28 M5).

If you can get it for $20k, that would be a good price. Pristine cars are hard to find, but I fell there are more E24 M's out there than other such as the E28 M cars. Something to do with the 2 doors and such.

With cars those nice, it really comes down to what the buyer is willing to pay/seller will to accept. But a nice 50,000mi car with almost no issues will likely go for $25k quite easily...

M6 for sale

I saw your post and am compelled to respond. I own a 1988 m6 that is currently listed for sale for $25k on autotrader. It has 53000 miles on it and is in fantastic shape. If you are interested let me know. The m6 is a fantastic car but getting harder to find in good shape with low miles.
