Cleaning/refreshing windshield

I searched but to little avail. When I clean my windshield it is clearly quite clean, however, when the sun shines through it, there are obvious marks/chips and I would really like to remove them. I'm rather anal when it comes to my windshield because it's one of those things which is very visible.

Are there any tips on what could be done to refresh those marks/chips? I'm assuming they are small rock chips etc. The car has 58K miles.
Oh, and replacing the windshield is not really the answer I'm looking for.

Thank you,
~Pat

Griot's Garage has products to clay, machine polish, and then seal your glass. I haven't tried them but would be interested to hear your reviews if you decide to do so. I've been contemplating this project for a while.
