Guys time has finally come. Selling my 02' in carbon black with $79k miles. First $26,500 gets it. I have a book full of maintenance dating back to 2004. 2 prior owners (California), clean title. Only issues are: some oxidation on passenger window trim pieces, pixel failure in dash, some interior trim is faded, broken cup holders. Paint is 9/10 (here is a video of a quick walk around showing exterior condition). Located in Texas. Text or call for more info 8324613973. Extended leather interior with factory subs in sound system.

I can respect that. I do it once or twice a year but was certainly uncomfortable with it the first time. Luckily the PPI was very detailed and gave me peace of mind. Also I used an online escrow company that handled the monetary exchange. I think their fee was like 1.5% or something along the lines. Since then I've just been doing on faith/virtual handshake. I wouldn't recommend doing that between non-enthusiasts though.

Also, my day job is in the counter-intelligence sector (white collar crimes to be exact). So I usually know more than enough about the party on the other side of the transaction before they even get my last name.

Argh. I’m in Flower Mound. Plano would have been a lot easier to come look at it than Houston. I’m most likely getting a ‘rebuilt title’ exact clone of this one, as my plan is to use it as a daily driver. The title came about when these were bottomed out in around 2009.

Beautiful example you have. About 7k over my budget but definitely looks the goods!

Sunroof rails are the problem. Either they're broken or need some serious lubrication. I never use the sunroof since I'm in Texas and it about 100 degrees here most of the year so it wasn't addressed.

The dash was rewrapped in new leather. The rewrap is a bit off, never really bothered me since I didn't really notice it until another enthusiast pointed it out. It's the stitching that looks to be bit crooked on one corner. I would've had it rewrapped in vinyl, just not a huge fan of the extended leather dash personally (I know, I know, I'm in the 1% that isn't drooling for it).

The center a/c vent in dash has a crack in it.

Passenger side window trim and some of the interior wood trim is faded (for interior I would just swap it out for something non-wood or wrap it). I think those two are likely the easiest fixes along with cracked a/c vent.

The grill inserts are original, and could be replaced if you want it to be flawless but I still think they look good.

The dash pixels are currently being repaired and I should get it back by early next week.

Mechanically, nothing is needed. I keep up with maintenance to the "T", including about $700 I just spent getting a new pinion seal and a/c connection addressed last week.

Also, one receipt I don't have is for the clutch. It was replaced at 22,xxx by previous owner at Mountain View BMW. I called the dealership and they did confirm it was done on the car but due to privacy reasons could not send me the work order (it has info of prior owner on it).

The car had an extended warranty of 7 years/100k miles that expired in 2010. So it was maintained pretty much 100% at BMW dealerships until then.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Beautiful M5! How much did it cost you to re-wrap the dash and where did you get it done? I would REALLY appreciate this information. I went through the services records in your album and could not find the receipt for it. I am eager to get this done to mine and would love to know the cost and where you got it done. If you could send a couple photos I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks so much.

Edit: Also thinking of getting a paint correction and ceramic coating as well, what were you quoted? I'm getting quotes all over the place!

Car has already been ceramic coated just FYI.

I get your concerns though. But...

Get a PPI with video walk-around pointing out all imperfections - 1. I'm very picky and would be afraid of making the trip for no reason after seeing the car in person.

Shipping is easy with uShip, I buy 2-3 cars a year and use the service often with no issues and affordable IMO - 2. I'd make the trip and then still want to ship it as I'd be trying to preserve the paint as much as possible. (Bring it back to the area and have paint protection film put on it as well as a ceramic coating).

I have a 9-5, and own 2 successful businesses on the side. We're all busy relatively speaking. But I always make time for the things I love: cars, swiss watches, and scuba diving - 3. I dont have much time with work and already have a vacation planned this year, so not much opportunity for time off.

Can't help ya here, lol - 4. Obviously I'm lazy.

Sorry I didn't see this before. For some reason I'm no longer getting email notifications when someone posts to this thread. I'll get some photos later today. I've removed some of the trim as I was already beginning to look for new trim and started the removal process, pictures will show it slightly taken apart.

It cost me $375 here in Houston at a shop in the Heights called Sublime Custom Interiors. You're right though, I forgot about that receipt. I'll need to look for it and upload it as well. I honestly wouldn't recommend them though. While it came out good (considering what it looked like before), they took quite a while to get it back to me.

For ceramic coating I find that the average is $1,200-1800 here in Houston depending on size of vehicle. That is the price for a multi-stage paint correction and 7 year serum. Price can fluctuate a lot if no multi-stage is done and a 5 year serum is used. I've seen as cheap as $600-800, but you know the old saying, you get what you pay for. In other parts of the country I know that it can cost nearly double. I highly recommend you follow x_ZappBrannigan_x on Reddit (specifically his posts titled Allure Auto Detailing). He has an incredible amount of information on detailing and ceramic coating. I would consider him to be in the top 3 in industry here in Houston. Check out his before and afters. Guy does some crazy good work. He's done 2 of my cars in the last six months and I couldn't be happier with the results.

Car is still for sale. Willing to take $25k for it. I recently replaced the exterior window trim that was slightly faded and also updated the interior trim with Anthricite Black trim along with getting dead pixels repaired on the cluster. The original wood trim comes in the sale if you want it.

Thing's I've done to the car since initial posting:

Some oxidation on passenger window trim pieces - Window trim pieces were replaced with OEM

Pixel failure in dash - Dash cluster was sent off for repair, now fully functional with pixels corrected

Some interior trim is faded - Updated interior with anthricite black trim as shown in last photo posted

Broken cup holders - Cup holders have been replaced

Price has been dropped to $25k for a quick sale.

Sorry for a lack of response on some of inquiries, I've been traveling for work like crazy. Should be Texas based at least until end of the month before getting back to the business travel schedule. Best way to reach me is via text or phone call as per my initial posting.

Dude, don't drop the price!
If you want quick sale, put it on BaT, but this car worth $25k easily.
$23.5 is a steal!
