what's my car worth

I have a mint example of an E39 (2003) M5, in carbon black on black, sport interior, bone stock, except previous owner added BMW bluetooth and a 7 series backup camera. It has every option available. It has 4xxxx km on it. All maintenance is up to date and documented. No accidents, rust, paintwork or wheel rash. It is a 3 owner car, I'm the 3rd. The first was Danny Cloutier, Vancouver Canucks goalie. Never seen salt or snow and barely any rain. Stored in heated garage. Driven respectfully by all owners, never tracked. I see them going for big bucks stateside, but there's not many low milers here in Canada to compare with. So I turn to you fellow enthusiasts for guidance..What's my car worth?

Supply and demand. Up here, it's only worth what someone will pay for it. You'd have to ask " What would a collector pay for it?". It's probably worth what you could get in the States, less a discount for the inconvenience of shipping it down there, paperwork, etc...

I appreciate the reply. I guess it's always worth what someone is willing to pay. As for the supply and demand, I have only observed the supply end of it. It seems to be fairly low, leaving the demand a question mark. Selling it stateside could prove to be a hassle. I don't even know if I want to sell it, I do enjoy driving it ) and I'll probably never find another one like it again. It took me 2 years to find this one lol
Thanks again

Yeah. There really isn't much supply in Canada at this time and no way to guage demand - I have seen some M5s with higher miles sitting unsold for > 1 year on Kijiji. They aren't there any more, but I don't know if they were sold or if the owner gave up. They were higher Km cars. I haven't seen any WTB for E39 M5s on kijiji - some for E46 M3s, though

I did see one other 2000 E39 M5 for sale for about $18K - but it had around 200K Kms and has been for sale for well over a year, IIRC. Then again, there is this guy on here who WTB an E39 M5... in Canada.

Looking at the M3s on Kijiji and the WTBs - They range from CAD$30K - CAD$45K (this one for a mint 2006 2 door coupe M3). I would imagine that a 'mint' E39 M5 would be somewhere in that range. I think the $45K would be a collector number. Most people who would want to drive the car would pay less. so, let's say $30K - $40K for the M5 for a driver and around $45K - $50K for the collector.

If you really, really want to know, pay a couple of hundred and have it appraised by a reliable classic car appraiser. You could even use an American one that deals with these 'mint' cars. I forget he name though. You might see it on Bring A Trailer.

Turns out I don't have enough post to PM. Could you email me some additional info at iannfld at gmail? I will be in your area next weekend and am interested in your car.

Ian , I'm assuming your e-mail is: [email protected]? Also I'd like to clarify, if I were to put it up for sale, I promised the former owner, whom I still stay in contact with, that he could have first crack at it.
