Alpina 750IL B12

Can any body tell me wether the diff and drive shafts on this particular model are original BMW items, or were they removed and stronger Alpina designed items put back in their place.

Hello,

I assume you are asking about the B12 5.0 or Am I wrong ? If so, please let me know.

I don´t know if the diff and drive shafts are original BMW items. However the "funny" thing is that they both have the same ratios. So...

Internal ratios (and mph/1000rpm-->for the B12)

1st --> 2.48 : 1/(9.4)
2nd --> 1.48 : 1/(15.8)
3rd --> 1.00 : 1/(23.4)
4th --> 0.73 : 1/(32.0)
Rev --> 2.09 : 1/?
Final --> 3.15 : 1

As you know those ratios are year dependent. In late 1991 the final drive ratio changed to 3.64 : 1

Hope this helps.
