Well, first off, I have to say they are completely different cars. Clearly, this is a matter of your preference.

But without any specs on the 997, and to give you some perspective, I'd say your car is worth about 45-50k now, and the average 997 (first gen) turbos are worth around 60k. Again, kind of a shot in the dark - and they are totally different cars, but if it excites you, go for it!

e65 B7 - SOLD

e63 - sold
e39 - sold
e39 - traded
e36 - totaled

How can you compare a luxury sedan with a sports car? I mean it depends what you want. The B7 is the more comfortable one where 4 persons can easily take place including their luggage. The 997 is rather built for one single person... driving a quick lap on the race track.

Do you need the car for your business or is it just for your own pleasure?

just as the rest of the cars are saying , 2 totally diff cars . the alpina u can drive all day long and still cant wait to get back into it . the porsche is an exciting car to drive but it can get very tiresome . a freind of mine recently bought a boxster and i drove it and its a great car but after i got back into my b8 and thought yesssss this is more me . if the dealer will allow it take the porsche home over night and then get back into your alpina and i will be very suprised if u choose the porsche

Have the m5 for the family ....not comparing one to the other, just wondered if it was worth taking such a hit on the Alpina ,and value wise, which holds better value ...I rarely drive the Alpina as you can tell from the miles....wife thinks I'll enjoy the P car more than the Alpina ....I'm a BMW guy day in and day out but just can't connect with this bugger, that's why I thought I'd trade in .....in the end might just keep it!

And anticipating this, without all the info, why I offered some value insight earlier:

So - depending on what you have in the B7, it may not be a value - but your lower mileage B7 isn't going to garner what you probably think it should.
