Yet another E39 M5 suspension question!

Hi everyone, I am at the point of wanting to do something with my stock suspension. I feel that the E39 M5 looks absolutely awesome, if there was one thing I wanna change, is the right height. I think it could be a LITTLE lower. I would like to maintain a decent ride, I do carry my wife and 7 year old daughter in the car a lot and I do daily drive the car. So I don't want to break my back daily. But I can stand a slightly more firmer ride, if I can get the lowered stance I am looking for.

My brother is adimant that I look at Koni shocks and Eibach Sport springs. I just want to crispen up the handling and I want the look.

Advice? Suggestions? Thanks so much for your time. I did use the search function, but there was SOO much to read.

Are the yellow Konis the exact same shocks you get in the dinan stage 1 suspension setup?
Read this, very informative

Suspension and 275's all around

Not to try and kijack the thgread, and I'll start a new one if it is appropriate...

Just curious as to who is running 275's on OEM 9.5 rims up front on these setups, or if they are all running stock front OEM rims and just slightly wider than stock tires?

I'm looking for a setup for occasional track use that will allow me to run my 275's on 9.5" SSR Comps without rubbing. I've done searches, but as usual there is so much conflicting info...I have H&R's, uninstalled as of yet, but apparently they will not allow 275's on 9.5" rims...

Anone running a 275 setup on aftermarket coils...

I have 275's all around, but on a Dinan Stage 3 (Koni)setup. I definitely helps dial out the understeer compared to the 245's up front and adds just a hint of oversteer. I have adjusted tire pressures by lowering the rears a little to compensate, I have a 2 psi stagger instead of stock 4 psi.

I have not driven an M5 with coil overs, but Dinan has this set up right on the money. It is the way BMW should have delivered this car.

How much does the stage one setup actually drop the car? and does dropping the car mean i'll need the camber plates to keep the alignment in check?
Dinan springs drop the car .5"

I too am currently updating the suspension (85k miles its time) sooo -

1) Dinan Stage 1 (I believe Steve when he says he has "specialized" tbe Koni's)
2) TC Design sway bar brackets and new OEM links
3) Bavarian Auto poly blend bushings for the thrust arms
4) OEM rears all around with 265/35r18 Bridgestone RE-01A
5) NO spacer for the 2mm difference between front and back to start with
6) KMAC (no affiliation to me) adjustable camber plates because they are gonna be in that general area anyway, so might as well do it now

Good Luck!!!
This is fantastic information, thanks for your replies. I should have my Dinan Stage 1 suspension kit with Konis today. I'll have it installed this weekend. I am soooo excited. I am also going to get the 17mm rear sway bar. THANKS AGAIN everyone, I will post pics of before and after shots when I get the kit installed! :)
