Depending on the car and manufacturer, it might, it might not. On some of the MB we have done and taken the x pipe out, there is some drone.

It really depends on the section 3. The vast majority of the drone or lack thereof comes from the mufflers.

Agreed....with SS X pipe, and E race....I have little to NO drone

with the X pipe (no resonator), I did notice loss of back pressure and some free flow air (faint popping noise)

I have SS race, if I were to add the SS X pipe, what would I expect noise wise? Right now it has a deep "bass" sound, not too loud

The main function of the x pipe is to equalize exhaust pressures, by doing this it does also effect the noise, but without resenators you will have a higher raspyness to the exhaust note.

I ask because my local quality muffler shop will build one on the car for $225.....not SS but I don't really care....if it performs the same function as a $500 one......they why not....

Avi8tir - How do you like the sound of yours with the xpipe? I was thinking of getting the xpipe with my dinan exhaust.

Can you describe how it sounds differently?
