Ok so i am pretty excited about possibly finding an M5 to buy. It was the color, interior, and mileage i wanted. Then the owner calls and tells me that the carfax shows the car as a "buy back" (something regarding the rear tail light). I appreciate that he told me that, but i did feel a little deflated.

Could someone that has CARFAX, pull it for me?

So here are the specs: Let me know what you think the price should be, I offered 37.5k before i knew it was a buy back and if the carfax was clean.

06 bmw silver, black interior/alum
WBSNB93546B583741
45k Miles
HUD, Active Seats (heated/cooled)
H&R springs
Dinan Catback
33 months/32k miles left on EasyCare

Of course I'm very partial to your find as it's my same exact color, specs and year. When I bought mine from a private owner this past May, before doing any negotiations, I had the car inspected at a local BMW dealer. I paid for pre-purchase inspection and planned to as I wanted the piece of mind from BMW that the car had no issues whatsoever. You certainly have some bargaining power with it being a buy back regardless of the reason. That's good it has a extended warranty with some mileage left. WHEN you find your M5, I would certainly get a extended warranty that will take you to 100k mi. Good luck and keeping looking, you'll find one.

It may look nice but a buy back because of a tail light or tail lights? I would say keep looking, you will find it, they are out there.
