The owners friend does not know if its an 1985 or an 88.

There is no M badging on the speedometer.
It has cloth seats but, there are the three stripes in every seat.
It does have an M powered 6 Engine. I have seen the engine.
Can you note anything based on the pictures?

It has vert high KMS
270,000 kms, But the price is right. $1000 cdn ($750 usd ) dollars.
It needs a starter and an alternator.

Just trying to see if
1) its an M
2 its a 5 series with an M engine
3) at those high kms, is it worth cleaning it up for a fun car at the local German auto shows.

Look at the VIN...the first three letters of the VIN will be WBS if it’s an m5.

You could also run a VIN check online, to see what trim it came out with, from factory.

If you haven't done an online VIN check before, google BMW VIN decoder and pick one from the list.
