Which oil filter is considered the best? Should I consider another brand oil filter? If so, which one?

This may sound odd but go to a parts store and physically pick up all filters, the heavier ones have more pleats and "theoretically" should filter out more particulates. If going mail order Wix and Bosch make a great product which may not be the most cost effective way to go but you know what you're getting. If you mail order Rock Auto has the WIX 61186 for sale for $4 and the BOSCH 72214WS for $4.90. Happy oil changing

I show the WIX 57594 as the correct oil filter for the M6 S85 motor.

Im not sure but id like to say this

I worked over 10 years in electronic manufacturing.

I maintained some very expensive automated machines

During that time we did a number of repairs

certain things were made under licence by leading manufacturers and we had no choice but to buy genuine

When we could source some parts by manufacturer that were "the same" or to the same specifications i can assure you they were not
This theory was proved a number of times as the machines ran 24/7

Im a big fan of genuine parts, not oem or oem equivalent
