Consider the following...

There were over 2,978,271 Mustangs made from 1964-1973.

From NADAGuides.com I found out the price of Muscle Car
1969 Ford Mustang
2 Door Fastback (boss 429)
(*) THE MUSTANG T5 MODELS WERE MANUFACTURED IN THE UNITED STATES FOR EXPORT TO WEST GERMANY. Engines listed in parenthesis after model: Do not add for engine in option section. (i.e. 2 Door Sdn (440) - includes the 440 engine.)

Thats a $110652 gain... So there were on average 2000 E39 M5 sold from 99-03 (8000). Just do the math youself. this could be money.... Not that you'd want to sell it after that long of ownership... :D

Now, maybe you'd take care of your M5 little more. :1: (not that you don't already take care of it.)

Cheers!

Hey great news, hope the maintenance costs are less than the theoretical $110k gain (in future $$ of course!) :1:

Although that vintage Munstang does keep their value prety well. Your #s does not reflect something called inflation.

I was watching the Barrett-Jackson auction this weekend on the speed channel. I was wondering the same thing. Would we ever see an M5 on the auction block going for big money??? Only time will tell.

Look what happened to the mustang in 1974, the same thing happened to the 5 series in 2004...

...it got ugly.

I can see the e39 becomming a classic because it's beautiful
