A shop in Dublin, Ca. called edge motorworks is doing this right now. They have an e36 m3 with a 4.4l from a 740 that is being installed with a dry sump. When i had my car dynoed there last, they had a guy custom fabricating a set of headers.
I think their web site is www.edgemotorworks.com if you want to check it out.

What does it do actually?
It allows a remote oil tank. You could potentially mount an engine lower, lowering the cars center of gravity. Additionally, the oil can remain cooler, not stored within the engine, and you could move the tank to help with weight distribution. Probably other advantages too.
Not really a 'street mod' with the work that would be involved.

You have a better ex of it so I'll edit mine.

The best version I've seen so far is a Dailey sump/pump($7000).

No not a street mod at all, but good for a few more ponies and a tank in the passengers seat.

So how do you delete a thread?
I went to the first and edited it but I get a error.

I have to stop wasting bandwidth

So what does the B50 on the engine code S62-B50 mean?

Not sure about the B but 50 stands for 5.0 litre.

I've always wondered about the "B" too. I googled it, but didnt come up with anything meaningful.
A fun engine transplant I saw on video a few years ago was an S38 into a Volvo 240...:haha:
