Who is in for Gumball 2006?

Hi Gustav,

How about a sticky for next year's Gumball? Then the day after the start we can go through the list and work out who were the lucky, unlucky and the bullsh***rs!

Car 72 (Lotus Esprit) is in for next year now that I have forgotten how bad it is to share a car with Mussy (even worse to share a room with himhiha for 6 days). I am risking being labled a bullsh****r if the entry price is too high.ouich Just have to hope that Santa and Uncle Max are kind to us :2:.

Well guys, sticky or not, I am in for 2006. Gotta have a crack at something, and I am itching to press some peddles. Australia is rather lame, apart from the track, all is very sedate and the mad moments are rather rare (due to our lovely police force....a***holes)

So bring on gb2006. It'll be either a Kleemann SL55 AMG or..an E55 AMG....so hoping Max gives the green light (bribe bribe) we are in as mad aussies.

Hey, you don't get much of us, and be thankful for that. We'll show you amateurs what drinking is. We are a dry country, so we have to make up for it somehow.

It depends on where it will be.

We are waiting for detailed information about GB2006.
The whole N. Korea thing is holding me back. I'm 90% it's BS anyway, but I guess I'll have to wait and see. My Pops and I had planned to apply this year, but he use to spy on N. Korea in the '60s-'70s, and that makes both of us more than nervous to step a foot accross the border.
Is there anyplace that would make you say no? Some countries that have arrest warrants outstanding on you perhaps? Did you jump bail somewhere?

On another note, just trying to drum up business for Mussy: if anyone was stunned by the rather high transport costs offered by Gumball to move cars to and from Gumball, then chances are he has a cheaper, better and faster option.
I am a UN diplomat. I am to remain neutral on all matters :p and not recommend individuals or companies.

I can only speak for myself, not for nitro, but there is a big chance that I won´t be in.
I accept that it would be very very special and a really big adventure, much bigger than all Gumballs together, but I don´t think that I would sign in.
On the other hand, who knows...

@ BalkanSexpress,

that maybe an interesting solution to transport a car to Korea.

We´ll see. At first one has to know where it will be. Then I will tell you if I am going to take some new footage of Mark´s balls.:1:

I may need shipping...not too sure yet. Car is to be done soon at kleemann...BUT...I need to test it...so it may end up here in Oz....so I will have to move it to the start point...but....until Max confirms.....who knows
If from Oz to wherever, best rate will be needed...arse end of the universe to the center....ouch

North Korea sounds unlikely. As far as I can remember Americans aren't allowed in and there isn't exactly an abundance of petrol due to economic sanctions. To be honest having a bunch of rich westerns racing through the country seems very unlikely to happen.
was #78 in this years (blue 355). I am thinking of applying in 993 gt2 (picked it up last week). no idea whether they will accept or not.

got back from north korea yesterday. there is no way it will be possible. foreigners can't move around without guides, there were very very few petrol stations. there are however completely disused 10 lane motorways.. will post some pictures in coming days.

upsides to driving in north korea

..no police cars
..no speed guns
..no other cars.. i mean... seriously.. NO OTHER CARS
..10 lanes
..no traffic laws

downsides

..lots of army jeeps
..with lots of guns
..no pretol stations
..tourists can't drive unaccompanied
..each army guy makes up his own laws
..a despotic leader with a taste for the finer things in life. a free collection of the top 100 supercars?

see the pictures attached. couldn't stop thinking about driving there with the gumball next year, really hope they make it happen, but seems unlikely.

10 lanes, no cars, no cops....but something is still missing...

DONUTS!!! That road is ripe to have some serious black steaks plastered all over it.

It does look rather freaky though..no cars in sight. what a drag strip that would make. Nearly as good as a runway.

h-bo, what were the road conditions like?
Road conditions are varied to say the least. There are some spectacular stretches, but more often than not you will see car sized pot holes, kilometre long tunnels without lighting and a military checkpoint every 3 kilometres. it's cayenne rather than enzo territory.

OK, my enthusiasm is diminishing for a drive through nth korea. Maybe a bullet proof cayenne is more appropriate to avoid the hail of gun fire as you scream, bounce, dodge your way along in between the..military checkpoints??...

I think Max should just stick to China and Japan...but stuff risking it in Nth Korea. Seems a bit like trying your luck for a drive through nigeria or neighbouring countries. You may or may not come out the other end!
the upside is huge though.. it would be epic!!!

I think North Korea is not the place to be :1:
