Hey guys,

Im looking into buying parts and I have been looking mainly at Kelleners. I am very interested in their exhaust as well as their software. On their website I found i can save almost $300 by buying the two as a package rather than buying them seperate from Beastpower.

My two main questions:

1. I know Kelleners is a big name in E39 M5's, what do you guys think?? Do you prefer other tuners for parts?

2. Is there anywhere else I can find the two for cheaper than a $2498.00 total cost (I will gladly buy used parts if I can save the money)

Thank you for your help.

I've had my car brought upto their stage2 package, camshafts, ecu mapping etc, and very pleased with the results!

They are pretty well known in the BMW tuning arena, with a motorsport background etc, their base.

Beastpower is a sponsor here, and can possibly give you a good m5board discount, email and find out!

You may want to look at Dinan's M5 offerings. A little on the pricey side, but you won't be disappointed. They put a lot of R&D into their products. I have no complaints about the way my car is running.

As with ANYTHING you shop on the internet (or anywhere esle for that matter) you will get your best price by making an offer and being ready to buy. It would be silly to think Beastpower wouldn't try to meet or better that price...

Go for supersprints mufflers for $1,300 and a computer upgrade from shadowman for another 1,000. Supersprint is a BIG name and their mufflers are the best looking out there. Not loud either.. Just abit louder than stock

The results from the computer upgrade will make you smile. You get nothing from Dinan's computer upgarde other than 200 more RPM and a quicker response which i think is a waste of money. Shadowman will offer you more actual hp gain.. Ask those who have tried it and they will fill in for you.

P.S. add another 350 and you can get the x pipe

Good luck

Thank you to everybody for your advice so far. As for the Supersprint mufflers, I want the loud, aggresive sound of the Kelleners mufflers. I am, however, very interested in their x-pipe.

As for the software, do you guys think I should stay with Kelleners or go to Shadowman??

You know, there aren't too many people in the US, at least that i've heard of, using the kelners software. I'd think it's more optomized for the european market, fuels etc. If you're in southern california, you can't go wrong with powerchip, which is who discovery auto uses. They can taylor the software for your particular mods, and take into account what type of fuel you will use.

Mottati, thank you for your advice. I have also been looking into Discovery's software. I have had problems with aftermarket software with previous cars of mine so I want to make sure I do it right this time. If Kelleners software is more for a European market I think I want to stay away from it because I would not want to handle problems overseas.

If you want amazing sound that growls, go with SS Headers/downpipe, SS X-Pipe and the Dinan Cans. The SS Headers bring those Dinan cans to life. There sound rediculously good. IMO.

Then go to Shadowman for the software. You will be in good shape. Heck while you are there throw in the UUC SSK and DSSR.

Haha, yeah I am planning on buying many SS parts down the road and the UUC parts are another mod I plan on adding very soon.

I still think Kelleners has the best sounding mufflers, IMHO.

Obviuosly pretty subjective. But I am positive you would be shocked if you heard the SS headers back with the Dinan cans.

just to add, there are two type of Supersprint mufflers available, original (most folks have), and the newer "race" lighter versions, which are apparently very loud, on par with Kelleners/tubi sound levels..

Pm member "Supersprint" who should be able to give you sound clips..and all the info you need.

As for any software "ugrade"...

There are very few specialists that can actually break a million line of code. Specially for the Siemens ECU that is in our cars. Most tuners buy code and relabel it. To give you an example: I bought the Hamann exhaust systen which came with a software upgrade. It turned out that it was a Superchip code (the 3 lines of code they changed had their signature still in it). Now comes the real joke. All it did, was raise the RPM limit, removed the speed limit and a more aggressive throttle response.

At least Powerchip tries for more and adjust the AF ratio. Still they just use a common lean scenario (better for milage and smog) and tune for the M5 optimum power AF. Still that is very general and might work better for one car or another. If you want to optimize performance on your car you have to put it on a dyno and have it tuned right there. Most likely the expense isn't worth the gain though.
