You need a better dealer then!, there is a factory kit for bluetooth for an 03 M5.
Maybe someone on the board who has an 03 can post a part number, or you could try one of the mail order dealers like pacific or crevier (both in southern california).

i also have the bimmernav kit on my 00. Fully functional, voice recognition, display on the nav screen and mid.

Thanks for your reply. Now that is interesting as the Service Mgr at BH BMW tells me NO WAY (just the other day)..there's no quaranty it will work...and they installed it? Who is your SA? Mine is Richard Smith.
this service manager needs to talk to the guys in parts! bmw has had a bt kit for an 03 model for a long time...

Thanks. I seem to be living in the bizzaro world at my dealer. Yes they have some of the proverbial black boxes to install but do not guaranty it will work, is my issue. Thats is why I very curious if they did the install. i can't see to get the energy or nerve/patience to do this and want them on the hook if it does not work. One day when I am back in the East Bay I will PM you to see your set-up. Best.
You should try another dealer. i have a friend with an 03 who had east bay bmw do the install. It was a total non-issue. He said he wanted bluetooth, they ordered the kit, they installed it. I'd be happy to help out with the install when you're up here. It's plug and play. Mine was the prototype kit from bimmernav, and even that was pretty easy to get working.
