Hi,

Ignorant M5 owner needs help  . There's a part on my 2000 M5 that runs under the chin spoiler that looks a bit like a flourescent light bulb, about 18 inches long. Mine just got smashed (dumb parking error  ), but as yet no noticeable effect. Have no idea what this part is, and I know I could look it up, but doing it this way seems quicker, and as it's New Years and I have to go out partying, time is of the essence.

Anyone help me out? What is this part, what does it do, and what happens when it's smashed (And I mean smashed, centre of it is completely missing). Oh, and how much is a new one.....

Cheers and Happy New year

Mitch

If i'm not mistaken, that particular part is there to protect your spolier from ground clearance damage! So it basically did its job!

Time to get it replaced!

Happy New Year!
