I have the Motorola Startac installed in my M-5 and it works great here in the Atlanta area. I would be interested in the voice activated phone once it becomes available though.Originally posted by MarkM5Lauderdale:
Have the Nokia 5960 currently installed.
CPT 8000 units will be released end of September. They will be the ones with voice activation.
Had the Nokia 8860. Was not impressed with reception or availability of car kits.
Turned it back in.
8890 is supposed to be their "world" phone. As of yet, no one in S. Florida carries the coverage for this one.

I just took delivery of my M5 8/2000 last week here up in ICELAND it has the new Motorola V 3690 installed between the seats. It has the voice control system and I love it.
The phone is wery elegant and only 70 gr. and
can be removed from the car with an easy flip of a button.
Again I am very impressed by how the voice system works with the phone and the notepad
On my US M5, only the BMW StarTec phone will work in the car. I had a StarTec of my own and the dealer tried to use it with the BMW install kit. It would not work so I had to buy the BMW programed StarTec which works fine.Originally posted by BrianC:
If you hear anything about fusing the 8890 into the M5, be sure to post it!
