I think I'm going to sell my 88 M5, but I'm not quite sure what it's worth. The car is in very good (but not perfect) cosmetic condition, and it runs well, but it's got almost 300k miles. So what's a nice looking, high-mileage, E28 M5 going for these days?

Watch ebay. There is usually 1 e28 M5 each week. That can give you an idea since there are usually pics and a description of the condition and recent work.

In your case, since you have 300,000 miles I'd have to say that most "real" buyers will ask for history. These cars can be quite costly to repair.

I have seen cars in the range of $7500 - $30,000.

I saw an ad a couple years ago for a 1988 M6 that had 400km on the odometer. That's 000400km. That person was looking for more than $30,000.

Real buyers, if you can show the engine has been rebuilt and such, (if not, that's awesome that they last that long but it'll scare buyers, I've read 200 is the time to rebuild) and the maintenence records show that kept up on all the regular stuff and everything looks pretty good, I think a real buyer will pay at least $10,000.
