Hi,

just wondered what mpg figures you lucky drivers (I'm a waiter) are getting.

I'm guessing if you drive it hard around the 13/14mpg mark. Maybe 20mpg on average.

I average 18.9 since I purchased the car, on the highway you can get about 21-22 and if you push the car hard it drops to about 14-15. I haven't tracked the car, but obviously this would drop the mileage even further.

My car has 3000 miles. I reset one MPG counter every time i get gas, but the other has been on since delivery. The mpg over 3000 miles has been 14.1

I get about 12 in the city, and about 19 on the highway with cruise control set. This is much better than my 225HP suburban, which gets 13 no matter what, except towing race cars, in which case it gets about 6. My 911 is 19/28 but is not near as fast or heavy as the M5.

My OBC says 17.4 mpg average since the car was new. I have just over 11K miles.

Waiters must be making more money than I thought. You're buying an M5 with tips??

Average 16.1mpg around here, which is well down from the 19mpg avg we got in the 2000 miles we drove the car in Europe via Euro Delivery.

Can't even seem to get back to 17mpg with a lot of freeway driving.

Love that MTBE-laced gas.

I am averaging around 18 mpg with a larger mix of highway driving than city driving. I reset the OBC on my Spartanburg M5 Driving Experience car before we started the fun.. I got 6.9 mpg.

Same here. I get 14mpg or so combined highway and city. I get 18mpg or so on the highway.

I have 2800 miles on mine. It is getting about 15-16 mpg in town. Took it to Tallahassee two weeks ago and it got 22-23 mpg for pure highway mileage at about 70-75 mph. I don't think that is bad mileage for 400 hp.

The mileage was really terrible until I put about 1500 miles on it. I assume that everything loosens up and seats in during that first 2000 miles.

Just put 200 miles on it at Sears Point, and got 7.9 mpg. No great mileage, but great fun.

Over the last 4000 miles, I got an average of 15.8 mpg. This is for a mix of city and congested Bay Area highways.

Maybe this will help those who don't use miles or gallons (pretty much everyone outside the US).
3.8 Liters = 1 gallon
1 kilometer = .62 miles.

If you know your Kilometers / Liter, you can convert.

The only better is Honda Insight with :
Manual: 61 mpg / 70 mpg with incredible 0-60 in 11.0 sec on [email protected] and [email protected] rpm

Who can beat that!
With total 3200+ miles ine is 20.1 average - last <1000 mi - my OBC resetted once in a highway - clock, timer, avgs got zeroed.
Though I drive it on a highway mostly (my avg speed is above 60mpg)

Keep in mind that Imperial gallons are not the same size as US gallons (their a little big bigger).

Cape Cod's 22.6mpg average at 80mph is amazing. Many "economy" cars would not do much better, if at all, at that speed.
