I have to give a lot of respect to bobo, especially if you drop the windows in Montreal in January! The home of the coldest winters I've ever experienced.
Speaking of the law, New York and Quebec have a mutual points system with regard to moving violations... I don't know of a state in the U.S. that has such a system with New York.
Happy motoring!
Thanks I have decided to get 20%I have 15 and as long as you keep the sunroof open while around the police it looks as if the fronts are lighter than the rears, and for some reason when they see that the rear is darker they assume you're good. I have never been stopped once for my tints and only once that I have been stopped did the cop check my tints. Needless to say, I gotta ticket for them too.. That was in CT. I'm usually in NY & NJ. You should have no prob with 20's..
Hey what year is your Z4M and do u have financial exhaust? If so I think I have seen itI think in MD you can do 15% in the rear and 35 up front ... I would say 35% all around is usually a decent tint .... at 20 all around you might be ok ... on the red .. it might be more noticeable. On a dark colored car it's assumed that the dark tint looks darker because of the cars color. All in all I think you should be fine ... and come down and say hello here in NOVA!
What is the differance between the look of ceramic tint and normal it even 3M tint ( I heard was the best)IMHO, ceramic film is with the extra money.
Yeah I live in Maryland so idk not as much sun as you but I HATE mirror tint ,so as long as it is not like ricer tint I will look into it but I will post pics when I get it doneKeep in mind as well, if you keep your rear window and rear side window sun shades down it does keep the car fairly dark inside and looks dark from the outside. I think 20-35 is fine. Also depends on where you live...I live in AZ and they rarely ever bother people for tints.
I agree about the ceramic tints they block UV sunlight much better and they have somewhat of a mirror shine to them. Depends on the ones you get...Before you get worried, they don't look like "chrome mirrors" but they do have a mirror type finish to them and they protect against UV rays. Regular tint is usually $150-$250...Ceramic can cost from $300-$600. At least where I live. Hope that helps.
