What are good tire inflations for track use?

Hey - I NEED some help from anyone that knows! I asked before but didn't get any responses - does anyone know what proper tire inflation should be for driving school and autocrossing?

Thanks in advance for any help offered!

Sean,

You'll probably want to use different pressures for autocrosses versus driving schools (tracks). It also will depend on the tires. When I ran my car at Buttonwillow Raceway I used 37 front and 34 rear (cold). Seemed to be ok but I didn't spend too much time trying different pressures.

For autocross, because the tires don't really have a chance to get hot, I'd start about 3 pounds higher.

Remember, to reduce understeer, raise the front or lower the rear pressures. I doubt you'll have to contend with oversteer.

Thank you Louis! I"ll let you know how it goes tomorrow - then I"m at Sebring on the 13th of May. THanks for your help!

I run about 28-32 PSI cold yielding 38-40 at temp F/R on my 275 square set with PSS. I have found that to be the best range for traction, anything less and the front tires will roll over during hard cornering.
Nice thread bump.
