I recently had my local bimmer dealer install K40 front and
back radar detecters as well as a front laser diffuser.
It was well worth the $ 2,000 to install. All I can say is awwwsome!!!!!
No tickets and don't see ant coming in the future.
Anyone who has this please share with the rest of the
bimmer heads.:wroom:

HUM................Two grand?
That same unit was installed for about $1k in my wife's CLK 500. Some slick new car salesman talked her into it when she ordered her ride. Her ride….her money.I personally prefer the V-1 with the Lidatek laser transponder in my Beast for under $600.00.
Don't be too confident that you will never be stopped because nearly 30 per-cent of all speeding citations are issued by the smart police who know how to pace a speeder. A very hard ticket to beat in court. There is no substitute for using that rear view mirror religiously.

Absolutely not....

Why use a moderator to police threads and impose their opinion when threads like this allow the members themselves to do the 'enforcement'.... they perfectly model appropriate M5Board behaviour- some chastise, some politely re-direct the thread... in total, both the original poster and others reading this get a sense of what is acceptable here.

This is why this site (generally) maintains the tone that makes it a great resource.

My opinion

I do not understand this. Are we not allowed to talk about radar detectors?

My guess is it was not about the detector, rather the replies to the original post...best guess on my part. sounds like it must have been getting rather tempered.

You did miss some stuff, that I think started out as a bit of a misunderstanding, maybe a 'hair trigger' on a perceived slight, then degraded into some name calling.

I am reminded of many (many) years ago when the call of "Fight, fight" would ring out in the playground... more often than not it was all over by the time you got there. Same story here.

As the cops say "Move along folks, nothing to see..."

:)

I guess he really did not believe it was worth the $2,000K to install.

I had my V-1 Rear view mirror and hidden away in rear parcel shelf done.

I'm sure it was only around $250 -$350 AUD. = $240 USD,

$2,000 USD he got hosed. hiha (Unless that included the Purchase price of the units as well ?) :flag:

Where have you been Mr B ? Hitting the golf course ? I still have not installed a radar detector. I have had 3 tickets in my life. 2 from radar. You think I would learn. hiha But since I am a law abiding citizen and do not travel over the speed limit, I am in the clear....for now. hiha hmmm  :byee55amg (I just noticed my post in this thread is gone :cool2: )

yes that includes the units.

It's a typical dealer price in the states.

Well thats Reasonable if it includes the 'SUPPLY" as well as the "INSTALL".

$2K Just for Install was harsh. We call it Supply & Install.

Thus the confusion when he said,
It was well worth the $ 2,000 to install.
Hey Mr C,

Yes I have been living on the Golf Course of late.

I played 6 days straight last week. Even God rested on the seventh day. :wroom:

As for speeding, you guys have no room to speed. I remember the five hour ride to the Airport. There were no speeding tickets issued that day. hiha L.A. Freeway, the worlds biggest Parking lot the day before thanksgiving.

We gave thanks for making it to the Airport on time.
